The Corps presently boasts 54 fully-trained Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs). Each member must re-certify in CPR annually, and take continuing education courses to upgrade their knowledge in the field. In addition to loaning crutches and wheelchairs to Fort Lee residents free of charge, the Corps continues to hold its annual Blood Drive for residents in October. The Fort Lee Volunteer Ambulance Corps responds to over 3,000 medical emergencies a year. The Corps is also a member of the East Bergen Ambulance Association (EBAA) and the New Jersey State First Aid Council (NJSFAC). Fort Lees mutual aid agreement with surrounding East Bergen communities assures that eight to ten ambulances can immediately respond in the event of a disaster.
